Terms of Service

BountyBoard is a sourcing platform where Buyers post bounties for hard-to-find items and verified Hunters compete to find them. BountyBoard facilitates the connection and manages escrow — we are not a seller, broker, or guarantor of any item's existence, quality, or price.

A bounty reward is paid for a verified lead — a genuine seller contact that meets the Buyer's criteria. It is not a guarantee that the Buyer will complete a purchase.

• You must be at least 18 years old to use BountyBoard
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date
• You must have a valid Nigerian phone number and bank account (Hunters)
• One account per person — creating multiple accounts is prohibited
• Accounts registered with false information will be suspended without notice

As a Buyer, you agree to:

• Post accurate, honest bounty descriptions — no misleading, illegal, or impossible requests
• Fund your bounty in full before it goes live — unfunded bounties are not published
• Respond to submitted leads in good faith and within a reasonable time
• Pay out rewards promptly when a lead genuinely meets your stated criteria
• Not reject valid leads in bad faith to avoid paying a reward
• Not use BountyBoard to source counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, or illegally traded goods
• Not post the same bounty multiple times to manipulate the feed or hunter competition

As a Hunter, you agree to:

• Submit only genuine, verified leads — real seller contacts with accurate information
• Not fabricate, duplicate, or recycle leads across multiple bounties
• Not submit leads for items you intend to sell yourself without disclosing this to the Buyer
• Keep your bank account details accurate to ensure successful payouts
• Not collude with Buyers to claim fraudulent rewards
• Accept that your reputation score and tier reflect your lead quality and may affect your visibility
• Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to submit leads or game the ranking system

When a Buyer funds a bounty, the reward amount is held in escrow by BountyBoard via Paystack. Funds are released to a Hunter only when the Buyer accepts a lead as verified, or when an admin resolves a dispute in the Hunter's favour.

• BountyBoard charges a platform fee on successful bounty completions — the fee is displayed before funding
• Refunds for cancelled or expired bounties are processed back to the original payment method, minus any applicable processing fees
• BountyBoard is not a bank or financial institution — all funds are processed through Paystack under their regulatory authorisations
• We are not liable for delays caused by Paystack or your bank

If a Buyer and Hunter disagree on whether a lead meets the bounty criteria, either party may raise a dispute through the platform. BountyBoard admin will review the evidence and make a binding decision. Both parties agree to accept admin rulings as final.

Disputes must be raised within 7 days of a lead being submitted. BountyBoard reserves the right to refund the Buyer or release funds to the Hunter based solely on the evidence provided.

You must not use BountyBoard to:

• Source, trade, or facilitate the sale of counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, or illegally obtained goods
• Post bounties for weapons, controlled substances, protected wildlife, or any item whose trade is illegal under Nigerian law
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Attempt to circumvent the platform by taking transactions off-platform to avoid fees or accountability
• Introduce malware, conduct phishing, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Manipulate reputation scores, lead counts, or any platform metric through artificial means

Violations may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of funds in escrow, and referral to law enforcement where applicable.

BountyBoard may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms other users or the platform. We will attempt to notify you by email before suspension except where immediate action is required to protect the platform or other users.

You may close your account at any time from Settings. Closing your account does not affect obligations already incurred — outstanding bounties, funded escrows, and pending payouts will be resolved before closure is finalised.

BountyBoard and its logo, design, and software are owned by BountyBoard. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without written permission.

By posting a bounty or submitting a lead, you grant BountyBoard a non-exclusive licence to display that content on the platform for the purpose of operating the service. You retain ownership of your content.

BountyBoard provides the platform on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law:

• We do not guarantee that any bounty will result in a successful find or purchase
• We are not liable for the accuracy, quality, or legality of any item described in a bounty or lead
• We are not liable for losses arising from disputes between Buyers and Hunters beyond the escrow amount held
• We are not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or third-party failures outside our reasonable control
• Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the value of the escrow amount directly involved in that claim

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of BountyBoard that cannot be resolved through our internal dispute process shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the version number and effective date above. Continued use of BountyBoard after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
